100% Tactel PC microfiber, Microfiber is a very fine type of synthetic fiber from which a non-woven textile, also called microfiber, is made. It is mainly composed of polyester (about four fifths) and polyamide. The yarn obtained is ten times finer than human hair, but only half as thick as silk. Its diameter is of the order of 10 microns. The shape of the fibre gives them a high absorption capacity, so products made from this material are good for drying, cleaning, etc. The fact that it absorbs twice as much as cotton means that a towel can be thinner and lighter, or that a cloth needs less cleaning product. There are many types with different final finishes, so you can get, for example, scarves or pieces of fine clothing as soft as silk, or super absorbent cloths that do not scratch. Many of the garments used in cycling are made of microfiber because of its ability to absorb moisture and keep the body dry. On the other hand, for use in clothing close to the body, there are people who do not tolerate synthetic fibres well or who feel that they do not sweat as well as cotton or linen, for example. Some people, even if they are not allergic, sweat more and in a very acidic way if they wear a shirt with the components of the microfiber. Each ball contains 50 Grams in weight and about 160 meters in length. It can be worked with 3 - 4 point needles, or with 3,5 mm. crochet. To make a short sleeve sweater, size 40, you need 6 balls. To knit a square of 10 x 10 cm, with 3 mm needles, you need to assemble 24 stitches and work 30 turns. Machine washable up to a maximum temperature of 30°C. Suitable for ironing up to 110ºC.
