The word cotton is derived from Arabic (al) qutn. Cotton is the most important natural fibre produced in the world, its importance began in the 19th century with the industrialisation process and today it still represents almost half of the world's consumption of textile fibres. Not all the species of the genus Gossypium have commercial value, the fibres are obtained from the seed of a few species, the length and thickness of the fibre depend on its origin. The characteristics of Katia Maldives Wool are

Each ball contains 150 grams in weight and 435 meters in length. It can be worked with 3 - 3.5 mm knitting needles or 2.5 mm crochet. To make a 10 x 10 cm sample, mount 30 stitches and work 22 turns. To knit a shawl you only need 1 ball. To knit a child's sweater, you will need 2 balls. It can be machine washed at a maximum of 30ºC and with products without bleach. It cannot be put in the dryer. We recommend drying it horizontally without stretching it. It can be ironed at a maximum of 110ºC. It is available in 9 different colour combinations and many metres long Cake format balls.
