80% acrylic 10% wool 10% alpaca The alpaca (from the Quechua allpaqa, paqu) (Vicugna pacos) is a domestic species of artiodactyl mammal of the Camelidae family. Evolutionarily it is related to the vicuña, although in current populations there is a strong genetic introgression of the llama (Lama glama) Its domestication has been carried out for thousands of years. We can find archaeological remains of the Mochica culture of Peru with representations of alpacas. This wool will give you warmth, and will protect you from the cold on the harshest days of winter. It has a twisted strand and small hairs that give the ball a great softness. In the textile industry, the term "alpaca" can mean different things. It is above all a term applied to wool obtained from the Bolivian alpaca. However, it refers more broadly to the fabric originally made in Peru from alpaca wool, although it is also manufactured and mixed with other types of wool such as bright Italian and English wool. The most precious fabrics are those from the first shearing of the alpaca, called baby alpaca. The four species of native South American animals and producers of fiber are: llama, alpaca, guanaco and vicuña. The alpaca and the vicuña are the most valuable animals for their wool: the alpaca because of the quality and quantity of wool (fiber), and the vicuña because of the softness, fineness, scarcity and high quality of its wool. Guanaco fiber is slightly lower than that of vicuña, but it is a little more abundant. The characteristics of Lanas DMC Juliette are:
